Do the readings on the card match chalcedony?

Yes. Chalcedony typically shows a refractive index near 1.53 to 1.54, and this card lists 1.54. A specific gravity of 2.55 also sits close to the usual chalcedony range, consistent with the species on the card.

Does carat weight show how big the stone looks?

Carat measures weight, not size. Chalcedony is lighter than many other gems, so 7.53 carats can look larger than a denser stone of equal weight. That said, exact dimensions are not provided on the card.

What does a mixed cut mean?

In the gem trade, a mixed cut combines different facet styles on one stone instead of one standard pattern. The card lists this one as oval mix shape, and the photo shows several broad, angled facets across the top.

Which metal suits a green stone like this?

Yellow gold and silver both suit green stones, giving a warm or cool contrast. This is a styling choice, not a rule. As the stone is loose, confirm setting style and size with your jeweller.

Can green onyx replace emerald in Vedic practice?

Emerald is the classical Vedic gemstone for Mercury; green onyx is a different material. Some sellers call it an alternative, but that is a trade view, not an established rule, and this listing makes no such claim.
