What does specific gravity 2.55 tell me?

Specific gravity compares a stone’s density with water. A reading of 2.55 sits near the typical chalcedony range, and it helps gemmologists tell similar green stones apart. It cannot reveal treatment or origin on its own.

Which setting protects a stone like this?

A rectangular stone with a flat table and stepped sides has exposed corners, so a bezel or four-claw setting protects it best. Dimensions are not provided, so a jeweller should measure the stone before making the mount.

Is it a suitable gift?

A loose green stone suits someone who enjoys gemstones or plans custom jewellery. Share the card details with the recipient, including that treatment and laboratory information are not stated, so they can decide with full information.

What does “natural” mean on the card?

Natural means the stone formed in the earth rather than being made in a laboratory. It does not mean untreated, because enhancement is a separate matter. Treatment is not specified on the card for this stone.

Is the weight exact or rounded?

The card lists 10.68 carats, to two decimal places. Gemstone weight is usually measured to the hundredth of a carat. Our gram figure of 2.14 g is a calculation (carats × 0.2), not a separate scale reading.
