Which settings suit an elongated cabochon?

An elongated cabochon can be set north-south in a pendant or east-west across a ring for a bolder look. Depth is not provided, so ask us before ordering. A jeweller can advise on which suits your hand.

What does the length-to-width ratio tell me?

The report lists about 12.77 x 8.23 mm, a length-to-width ratio near 1.55, which gives a clearly elongated oval. This ratio helps your jeweller choose a mount with matching proportions.

What is the darker zone near the top of the dome?

The photo shows a darker grey zone near the top of the dome, which may be body colour, an inclusion or a reflection; a photo alone cannot say which. Ask us for a video or close-up if this matters.
