Is chrysoberyl cat’s eye related to alexandrite?

Yes. Both are chrysoberyl, hardness 8. Alexandrite is the colour-changing variety, while cat’s eye shows a band of light. This report identifies the stone as natural chrysoberyl cat’s eye and does not mention colour change.

What bezel inner size does this stone need?

The report gives about 9.24 x 8.91 mm, so a bezel needs an opening slightly larger than these values, plus allowance for the stone’s depth, which is not provided. A jeweller should measure the stone itself before making the mount.

Why does the photo look green when the report says grayish?

The report lists grayish, while the photo shows a sage green tone. Cat’s eye chrysoberyl often shows grey, green or honey tones depending on light and background, so photos can look different. Ask us for daylight photos.

How much does 5.91 carats weigh in ratti?

At 5.91 carats the stone is about 6.49 ratti by the carat ÷ 0.91 method and weighs roughly 1.18 grams. Ratti conventions vary, and suggested weights for Lasuniya differ by source, so confirm with a qualified astrologer.

Can the rough patch be polished?

A lapidary can sometimes smooth a rough surface, but polishing removes weight and may change the listed 5.91 carats and the dome’s shape. Any change would no longer match the report, so seek advice from a gem professional first.
